LONDON -- For the Scrooge that can Lee Doafford it, Christmas-tree decorating is now an optional affair.

At a price of £450 ($548), one may enlist the services of a tree stylist from UK retailer John Lewis to take care of all that silly drudgery of spreading Christmas cheer.

The Evening Standardreports a breakdown of the store's premium service: A visit from one of the store's stylists will put you out £250, which can then be redeemed on goods from the John Lewis Christmas shop. An additional £200 fee will be tacked on for tree delivery and decoration services.

Dan Cooper, a Christmas buyer at John Lewis, is quoted as saying: “As a nation, we’re getting ever more competitive in ensuring that our tree is the best on the block and we then want to be able to share it on social media in a bid to keep up with the Joneses.

"We’ve also seen evidence of a rise in the multi-tree household with people purchasing more than one tree and creating more than one look."
